Living Life to The Fullest!

Joplin MO LifeI love seeking out new experiences and finding places off the beaten path. I started Joplin MO Life in August 2013 as a way to share my discoveries with others in the Joplin community so that they can learn about the resources that exist right in their own backyards.

I have worked in education and event planning, and have always loved to write. I hold a master's degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor's degree in marketing from Tulane University.

  1. The Manor scared me to death. Well, at least I thought it was scary, but I get scared easily! The Manor is probably one of my favorites!

  2. Done! Thanks for the info, Mike.

  3. have you been to these attractions?

    • No, I haven’t.

  4. Which are kid friendly?

    • I’m not sure that any are actually kid-friendly. I’ve heard that some of these attractions offer a less scary option that people can choose before going through, so you could ask about that before you go.

  5. Which one is the most Scariest. I love to be scared out of my mind.

    • I wish I could tell you but I don’t go to spookhouses myself (they’re to scary for me!). My kids have gone to most of these and seemed to like them. Maybe another reader can offer an opinion here in the comments section.

  6. The bordello house needs to be taken off of this list, as I just called and the man who owns it changed it into a residential home. It’s been closed for 5 months now.

    • Oh, no! That place has so much history and is a perfectly spooky venue to explore at this time of the year. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll take it off the list. 🙁
