Ranchero Sandwiches

Ranchero Sandwiches

Ranchero sandwiches consist of sweet Hawaiian rolls stuffed with Black Forest ham and Swiss cheese, and then topped with a savory poppy seed sauce. Easy to make, they are perfect for a busy weeknight dinner or a tailgate party snack.

I vary the type of Hawaiian rolls that I use depending on the situation. If I’m making this recipe for dinner, I will buy the sandwich size or hamburger size Hawaiian rolls and double up on the fillings; if I’m bringing these sandwiches to a party I will buy the small Hawaiian dinner rolls to make a larger quantity of sandwiches.

Allow about 40 minutes to make these; 10 minutes of prep time and 25-30 minutes of baking time. Just add a veggie and some fresh fruit and you have an easy weeknight meal that serves 4-6 people.
