Connect2Culture

Guest contributor Emily Frankoski, Community Arts Coordinator for Connect2Culture, describes the mission of the organization and how you can get involved.

Connect2Culture (C2C) was founded with a mission to encourage growth and development of a vibrant cultural community. They strive to enhance the arts, historic and natural preservation, education, and economic development.

C2C has worked with the City of Joplin to support development of the Joplin Center for Arts & Entertainment/Amphitheater – an initiative created before the May 22, 2011 tornado – and now part of rebuilding efforts to enhance quality of life for Joplin residents, as well as visitors to the city. This cultural complex will include renovation of Joplin’s historic and beloved Union Depot. Many already established arts and cultural organizations will be able to use this facility to enhance their offerings and better serve the public.

In February 2013, I joined C2C as its first staff member, Community Arts Coordinator. My job is to actively develop support services and resources for local arts organizations to promote community involvement and audience development. By raising public awareness of art opportunities, C2C aims to strengthen and grow the Joplin arts community!

Living Life to The Fullest!

Joplin MO LifeI love seeking out new experiences and finding places off the beaten path. I started Joplin MO Life in August 2013 as a way to share my discoveries with others in the Joplin community so that they can learn about the resources that exist right in their own backyards.

I have worked in education and event planning, and have always loved to write. I hold a master's degree in journalism from the University of Oklahoma and a bachelor's degree in marketing from Tulane University.
